Driving to Tanis is through the fertile Land of Gosen: A place mentioned in the Old Testament where Prophet Joseph introduced his father Jacob the Prophet and his 11 brothers to settle down.

The ruins of Amun Ra temple
The Amun Ra Temple in Tanis was dedicated to the god Amun Ra and built during the 21st Dynasty.
